Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan has been President since 2014. He won reelection in 2023, securing 52.18% of the vote in the presidential run-off election. In 2023, in the most recent elections for the Turkish Grand National Assembly, his AK Party won 268 out of 600 seats, and 35.62% of the vote. In the previous election, in 2018, AK Party won 295 seats and 42.56% of the vote.
