Slovenska demokratska stranka (SDS) is the second-largest party in Slovenia's National Assembly, holding 24 out of 90 seats, and is in the opposition. SDS won 27 seats in the most recent election in 2022, but resignations and the formation of a competing party in 2024 have resulted in a reduction in representation. SDS's performance in 2022 was an increase of 2 seats over their total in 2018. Though Slovenia technically has a bicameral legislature, the National Council is not directly elected by the people.
SDS won 30.59% of the vote and 4 out of Slovenia's 9 seats in the 2024 European Parliament election, the most in the country. These members joined the European People's Party (EPP). This electoral performance was an increase over the 26.25% and 3 out of 8 seats they won in 2019 in a coalition with the Slovenian People's Party. That coalition finished first in the 2019 election.

"On the other side are those who see the import of as many migrants as possible from a foreign environment as a continuation of the project from the communist manifesto, where it is written that some sort of socialist non-class society can only be created after the breakdown of family, nation, religion, private property and private education. They changed their priorities a little now, but the degradation of family and nation remains on their agenda. They go by a different name now, but this is still a policy of cultural Marxism and to them the illegal immigrants are potential new voters and, having no roots, the illegal migrants will be able to break apart family and nation more easily, this is why this Document is harmful. ”
