In the 2022 parliamentary election, Sverigedemokraterna (SD) was the second-most successful party. SD won 20.54% of votes and secured 73 seats in parliament. This is a larger showing than in 2018, when the SD finished third with 62 parliamentary seats with 17.53% of the vote.
In the 2024 European Parliament election, SD matched their result from the 2019 European Parliament election, won 3 out of Sweden's 21 seats and joined the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR). In 2019, SD also won 3 seats and joined the ECR.
