Vladimir Putin won 87.8% of the national vote in the 2024 presidential elections – a vote that was considered by international independent election observers, the US, the UK, Germany, and other nations to be neither fair nor free – maintaining his grip on the presidency he's held since 2012. In the 2021 elections for the State Duma, the Yedinaya Rossiya party took 326 of the 450 seats. This is a slight decrease from the 2016 elections, in which United Russia took 343 seats.
