Yoon Suk Yeol is the former President of South Korea. He won the People Power Party's (PPP) first presidential election in 2022. Yoon was removed from office by the Constitutional Court in April 2025 after being impeached by parliament for imposing martial law. Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party was elected in the resulting snap presidential election in June 2025, defeating PPP candidate Kim Moon-soo. In the 2024 parliamentary election, the PPP's first, the party finished second, winning 36% of the vote and 108 seats in the National Assembly.
