In 2022, Fidesz–KDNP had defeated the six-party United for Hungary Coalition, winning 54% of the national vote share and 135 of the 199 seats in Hungary’s National Assembly. With that victory, Viktor Orbán had secured a fourth consecutive term as prime minister.
In 2024, FdI won 24 of Italy's 76 seats in the European Parliament and joined the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR). In 2019, they held 5 of Italy's 73 seats.
