In the March 2022 elections, Democratic Center finished fifth (in terms of seats) in both the House of Representatives (16 seats , or 9.86% of the vote) and in the Senate (14 seats, or 11.85% of the vote). This represented a decline from the 2018 elections, when the party won the most seats in both the House of Representatives (32 seats, or 16.02% of the vote) and in the Senate (19 seats, or 16.41% of the vote). In 2018, Democratic Center's candidate, Iván Duque, won the presidency, and held office until 2022.
