Schweizerische Volkspartei (SVP) is currently the largest party in the Swiss Federal Assembly. They dominated the parliamentary elections held in October 2023, winning 28.6% of the vote and 62 seats in the National Council. This is an increase from the 53 seats and 25.6% percent of the vote share they won in 2019. SVP also has two members in the cabinet and 9 seats in the Senate.

"The world has become unsafe. As a small country, we can't influence that. But Switzerland has also become unsafe. And there are people responsible for that!
Our borders are not protected!
Asylum seekers and illegal immigrants are making Switzerland unsafe. Serious violent or sexual crimes, robberies, and burglaries occur almost daily . . . The center-left coalition in Bern allows tens of thousands of illegal immigrants into the country every year. Asylum parasites come to Switzerland from all over the world and live off the working population. We don't know who's coming. The majority deliberately destroy their papers. They refuse to cooperate with the authorities – and they are rewarded for it: with a residence permit, with social assistance, their health insurance is paid – and we stupid Swiss wonder why we have to pay ever-increasing premiums. We pay twice!"
